Exclamation A word of warning re selling UK house

I have just discovered that although I paid off my mortgage in July when I sold my house, my 'mortgage protection insurance policy' was never cancelled and the bank has continued to take payments from me for something I no longer need to protect!

Remember, in the excitement of selling off your house and not taking another UK mortgage, don't forget to cancel all associated costs/policies.

I did it the other way round Michelle! I went into my online banking and cancelled all my direct debits, then counted one by one as they all wrote to me saying I owed them money!
