Well done!

Presume you're just waiting for your police certificate to arrive before you can send off your bumf?

Mine arrived yesterday after only a 10 day wait :D

sent off all my docs by registered post this morning.....cost £6

Sounds like you're at about the same stage as I am!

Keep in touch & let me know how you progress!

Yep next step police certificate, but im going to send everything else off first, BECAUSE my referees have been super quick off the mark and already sent my references off so i do not want them to crop up on someones door and they be like hmmm who the hells this girl we havent gotten an application for a Nyssa lol so police cert can follow very shortly. I expected it would cost me a packet, did you send with a recorded delivery or such like, im really scared its going to go astray

I sent it all registered post, so they will have to sign for it on delivery & I get a barcode number so I can follow its progress to the other side of the world!! :thumbsup:This also acts as proof of postage should it go astray...hopefully it won't!

My references had been sent off quickly too, I also worried about them getting 'mislaid' before the NCNZ received my application...I emailed the NCNZ as regards this & they emailed me back within a couple of days & said....

''The Nursing Council encourages applicants to send in their application with payment so that any document that comes in seperately will have a record set up in the database.
However, if documentation arrives before an application is received this is held for one year''

I'm hoping this whole process will be quick as I'm itching to go to NZ!

What part of NZ are you thinking of moving to? What area of nursing are you in?

We sent everything registered post, just as well as our x-rays went missing but we had proof they had received them and yes they turned up very quickly after that.

Best of luck

Thank you for the info, i shall definitely use recorded post. I'm a mental health nurse, but i specialise and will only work in child and adolescent services and i have specialist knowledge in eating disorders. Im planning to go north island and the only places I've really liked the idea of so far have been bay of plenty by the beach and Auckland city. I like the idea of being in Auckland because i'm a single female who is travelling alone, and im guess there is lots to do and people to meet in Auckland. On the other hand, bay of plenty will be more new zealandy i guess because its not a metropolitan city and it is beautiful there by the looks. But who knows, with my job prospects so specific i may have to go where the jobs are, but there are things i wont compromise, because at the end of the day i don't HAVE to go out there i just want to and i might just wait until the job is right and the location is right, I'm not travelling around the world to something I'm not 100% happy with because i wont have anyone to cry too. Planning on landing in NZ in January but who knows,

I think most nurses I've spoke to on here have been in mental health....does that tell us something about NZ? :sneaky::rofl:

I'm a theatre nurse & happy to work in any speciality within theatre...I suppose this will be an advantage to me when looking for employment!

We are also wanting to move to the Bay of Plenty...Papamoa to be exact! We visited in April and it's absolutely beautiful.

You're going on your own? Aren't you brave? I shall be travelling with my hubby & 2 boys (age 5 & 10)

You say you're going in January too? That's when we're hoping to go, as the new school year begins 1st week in Feb.....you never know, we may even be on the same plane!! LOL!!:p

Awesome! i havent been to new zealand, i have to go on hearsay and websites to decide where i want to be hehe! ahhh well my dear if indeed we are on the same plane or infact if we are not we should meet up! us expats gotta mingle and have a good cup of tea.....I think mental health nurses leaving the uk says alot more about the uk than it does about Newzealand hahaha! Theatre sounds interesting....going alone is brave, but its only for a year (she says) and i intend on growing as a person and developing as an individual whilst out there.
