Default Will NZ shut it's doors?

With everyone wanting to emgirate to NZ, do you think they will shut their doors to us? saying they have enough english people already in their country or do they need more skilled people to carry on for the next couple of year?

Nah, if you are qualified and if you have filled out all the forms and submitted the paperwork as required you'll be sweet. New Zealand loves skilled English-speaking immigrants. Hell's bells, they gave me permanent residency, so they must not be that particular.

Why the thought that it might... UK TV keeps telling us how many thousands of people NZ wants... Is there something I've missed?

Apparently the birth rate is up in NZ at the mo but by 2042 there'll be more deaths than births ... whatever that means.

I think they will slow migration if the economy tightens.
They've done it before by upping the points required.

24,000 Brits last year up from 6,000 five or six years ago.

Kip
I seem to remember when we first toyed with idea of coming here over 3 years ago, they only seemed to take over 150 points. But I am far too not clever to be able to access that myself, only going on what I was told.
(I don't 'do' technical - I have a very nice man who 'does' technical for me )
