Centred in Pongaroa! It could have caused literally tens of dollars of damage.

I have a friend <insert pause to let that sink in> who purchased a 3 bedroom house in Pongaroa for less than $60k and it's perfectly fine...it's just a normal house with a garden . It's the birthplace of Maurice Wilkins which makes it quite interesting if you are a little bit nerdy.

You are not alone.

I find that the number of earthquakes every day to be startling. I look at this web site from time to time and there are multiple 5.0+ earthquakes daily.

Didn't feel it thankfully but we were dealing with a noise thump issue at the time so that likely masked it.

We've just moved up to a bedrock area, and didn't feel a thing, but my friend in the valley felt a good shake. We found out just after we moved in that quite a few of our neighbours work at GNS, lol!
