This is what Mr BEVS should have been able to work, if not more + being able to take the 20 days leave to cover annual shutdown each year + time for hols

You work 174 hours less than the annual average for New Zealand.
This is 134 hours less than the OECD average.
This is what actually happened last year. Annual leave being taken in odd days here and there when employer stated they would be when work was quiet. Last xmas shutdown was a week longer than usual . 3 weeks .No Work = No pay as employer had used over last winter..

fat chance! he already works around 60 hour weeks.

I've been parenting for 15 years so far... new baby equals around another 18 "hands on" years to go....

Exactly the same here.

Compared to what I did in the UK:

''You work 2 hours less than the annual average for United Kingdom.
This is 73 hours less than the OECD average.''

So much for emigrating for an easier life.

Always smarts a bit that I work five more hours per week than I did in the UK and have one week less of holiday.

293 hours over the NZ average and must be 600 hours more than I used to work in the UK!

Ditto not sure how they manage the NZ average.

In UK I was apparently working 50 less than OECD average and 22 hours more than UK average.

Hard for me to do this one as I've been self employed for a great deal of my life. For the last 5 years back home I had a 24/7/365 contract which meant some days I worked 16 hours (plus) and some less than 2, but when I added up my charged out' hours I actually worked just over average 1647 hrs But add to that all the unpaid hours I worked quite a few hours over the average.

When I've worked for a wage here it's considered the norm to do a 45 hour week, more like 50 in winter and 55 in summer, (in the building trade) So where they get 1758 hrs average from I don't know. Just means that there are heaps of lucky buggers just working mornings I reckon

I can't help but notice most of the countries at the bottom have a higher GDP/capita, should we not cut hours to increase our productivity?
