There seems to be a lot of differing opinions regarding living in NZ lately and I am a bit confused with many of the postings as to who is :mad: and who is :D .
If you are reasonably content like me then start your post with a :)
If you feel you made a BIG mistake then start with a :(
But with both explain why..........................

:) Pretty happy so far, but still finding our feet really after just six months here. Could do with meeting a few more locals. Shame the summer has ended, but mid-May here a lot nicer than mid-November in UK.

:) We love it here and want to stay. I miss everyone so much but its so much nicer here... and its 20 degrees in late autumn.... nice. I just need to get a part time job sorted and eventually we will need to buy our own place too.

:) 90% happy here - 10% is just my job which I really don't like - second job since I got here last year - but I'll fix that eventually and hopefully it'll be 100% soon. The reason I don't like my job is that the company consists of so many people that I'd hoped I'd left behind me in Europe - it must be very dark where there heads are :D I've no time for pretentiousness but I had heard you do find that in Auckland and unfortunately it's true in certain places. Not everywhere - the people in my last job were really lovely and we still meet up and are in contact all the time.

But, other than that it's all good and we definitely wouldn't go back. :)

:) We've been here just over a year now and are loving it. We lived in Auckland for a while, which was great, and then moved down to Wanganui, which is even better!

I've been lucky with jobs and have had 2 superb employers, met a fair few people, seen most of North Island and generally have had a good time of it. Wild horses wouldn't drag me back to the UK now. (For the record I liked it back in England too, just got itchy feet. :) )

:) we've been here 6 months and can't believe how settled we feel - no thoughts of going back other than for holidays!
