Where's the best place for New Year in New Zealand?
We will be in NZ over Christmas/New Year and want some suggestions as to where to spend New Year. What's Wellington like for some NY celebrations and where are the best places to go? Thanks.

We were on a beach in Papamoa with friends and very very drunk!!!!!

Having spent many many New Years in NZ would have to say my all time favourite place is Whangamata. Nothing like partying with 70,000 happy beach going people. So many free concerts on the beach everynight between Christmas & New Year & can think of a better place to be waiting for the clock to tick over to midnight than on a beach. Celebrating in some of the big cities is ok but nothing quite like the relaxed atmosphere of a beach town
