Where to buy electicals and container holding times
Hi there - have just arrived in Auckland and think I've found a place to rent...but it does not have a washing machine or fridge-freezer. I'm on a real bufget for now and wondered if anyone could suggest places that are cheap but also deliver. I have looked on Trademe but many people would want me to pick up.
Also, my container arrives on 3rd Dec but does anyone know how long MAF will keep it? I just need to know roughly for the move in date. Thank you in advance.

We bought our fridge/freezer from Harvey Norman and had it delivered 2 days later - it depended on what was in stock, but I don't think they're necessarily the cheapest.
Our container arrived in port on a Friday, the stuff was moved to Pickfords' premises. It was inspected there by MAF (22 boxes anyway) the following Wed and 'released' to us on the Thursday. Pickfords delivered it to us the following Tuesday - so about a week.

I think it was just a couple of days from our container arriving to getting it delivered to our house. We were given a list by removal company of box numbers MAF wanted to inspect. Those boxes (55 of them) were put to one side unopened in our garage and MAF turned up around 1/2 hour after the container came, did their inspection in the garage, all was ok and they left about 1/2 hour later.
