Steak Friday for us! We have some friends visiting at the moment, we told them we usually have steak on a Friday so they came home yesterday with a pack of fillet steaks from the butcher

Steak at the moment is mega bucks & more some , It is also a bit rubbish due to the time of year.
Take it and totally enjoy.

I have got my favourite #latenightbeenshopping #CBAmakingmuch fast food Friday - falafel, pitta bread, hummus and pack of 'mediterranean' salad and a cheeky Lamington to follow.

Never noticed that there's a wrong time to eat steak here. Always good year round for me.

I'm with Stix and Beaver on this - steak time is any time!
Pleased to report that fillet steak was delicious and cooked to perfection by the Mr. Served up with home made chips and salad. Win!

I was gonna say, Steak is one of the few cheap highlights here - a nicely 6 minute either side T-Bone steak or Sirloin Steak, with homemade kumara mash (mixed with paprika) and some fresh carrots and beans from the Woodend veg = very happy mouths! When steak is cheaper than pork and lamb, you know you're in a slightly odd place 
I also sometimes add a homemade peppercorn sauce or if i'm being lazy, HP Barbeque Sauce - yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum!

No love. That's silly. 
Coz we've had a few bad work nights & weekends with noise issues and the like. MrBEVS thought I looked droopy & exhausted ( he was right) & this would be a treat for the both of us . I can't actually eat curry but can manage mild korma with a whole heap of rice. In any case, it is really the only option for a Sunday evening, unless one wants a longer round trip which wouldn't really have been deep joy for MrBEVS. As you may note from that , takeaways are not really an option and so do not happen often.
FWIW. It didn't come out of the household budget. It came from MrBEVS having done a couple of odd jobs over the weekend & taking some scrap into the scrap merchant. So his personal treat
But thanks for hoping to pour meany cold water on our evening.
I'll stick by my stance though. Steak at the moment is mega $$. I only ever buy it on special and then it is usually rump unless a sirloin comes in cheaper. Mind you , to keep within our budget buying on special is a no brainer. Lamb is currently far cheaper than steak hereabouts. Please note we do not have a Mad Butcher.

Have to say that we find steak quite cheap compared to other meats but then the market is probably more competitive up this way. I tend to stick to eye fillet. I have a pathological loathing of fatty meats!
I once went into a Mad Butcher store <shudder>. I tend to stick to our local butcher in Manly.
Hope you enjoyed your curry BEVS. So sorry you've been having a rough time of it again. Frankly, what we all choose to spend our own money on and the choices we make are our own affair.
