What's for dinner?

Re: What's for dinner?
Barramundi, leeks, and Rosti. Have just whizzed the potatoes for the rosti in my blender but I've bought the wrong potatoes, a bit too "floury", and it looks kinda clunky. I suspect it's going to be more like Fried Mash + Onion rather than Rosti...... not that there is anything wrong with Fried Mash + Onion.

Waitrose ready meals for a change tonight, now I'm in Croydon. Next week I will have access to more than a microwave, I can't wait!

Re: What's for dinner?
Just wandered down to Nosh and did one of those "Man Shop" type things that will either enchant or annoy Mrs B depending on her day/mood.
Even by my standards it's a 'mixed bag' (and a half).
Bag of Baby Spinach – $1.99
5 Avocados – $2
Kilo of pears – $1.29
Kilo of Royal Gala apples – $1.49
6 pork sausages – $6.78
Piece of Maasdam Cheese (the stuff with holes in it) – $22.90 a kilo
Kilo of carrots – $1.49,
and the crowning glory..
a "I Love Pies" family sized 'Prime Beef and Caramelised Onion' pie – $9.99
I've convinced myself that i couldn't have made the pie for that price myself as justification for that inclusion. Me and the bodkins will enjoy that tomorrow with mash and carrots and peas.

Re: What's for dinner?
I had been thinking about and planning today's dinner in my head for the past 24 hours. Absolutely no cooking required but needed to pop to the shops to get the key ingredients and bring the whole thing to fruition.
Doorstep slice of crusty bread, butter, hunk of half decent cheese; half an apple, little bit of lettuce, tomato, cucumber, Branston pickle and a pickled onion. Handsome!!

Slumming it with pan fried fresh caught salmon, little boiled potatoes and steamed broccoli, plenty of NZ butter and limons........
One happy fat cat called Boe (rehomed name?) will be eating the trimmings
