Grilled pork steaks with mashed spuds, cabbage, and herbie roast veggies (kumara, pumpkin, carrots, onion & garlic with thyme, cloves and thai basil), with gravy and 'apple sauce'; followed by home made lemon drizzle cake

Poor mum, she wasn't going to have any pud today until she found out I had made that - it's one of her recipes and she doesn't really do any baking any more, what with living on her own....

We had super cheap eats, pea and ham soup made with a bacon hock in the slow cooker. Followed by a slab of homemade carrot cake for dessert.

Whad'ya put in the upside-downy cake Bevs? I saw a recipe yesterday something with a ginger sponge and pears on the bottom that took my fancy.

Pork and Apple meatloaf. It's a five ingredient wonder not including salt and pepper) , i.e. 250g pork mince, 25g Sage and Onion Stuffing mix, 1 raw egg, 1 chopped onion, 1 grated apple, salt and pepper to taste.
Combine all ingredients then bake in a hot oven for minimum 40 mins. Yummy. Serve with instant gravy, potatoes and a selection of veg. The recipe will make 2 portions, just up the quantities for more portions.

No pudding in our house on weeknights. I like to have a biscuit or chocolate in front of the t.v. instead and try to remember this is a treat - not to eat the whole packet !

Hey I got some Birds instant custard powder from Bramptins during last weekend's visit to Auckland. Apple pie and custard for pudding on Sunday methinks !
