What type of camping gas is available in NZ

What type of camping gas is available in NZ
We are on EOI ITA rollercoaster and hopefully looking to start our new life in NZ before Xmas 2010. We do a lot of 'family' camping in UK and want to continue to do this in NZ to see the most of the fanastic country. We need to buy a new 2 burner camping stove & are just wondering what kinds of camping gas cyclinders are available in NZ?
Obviously we can not bring them with us in a container, so can we buy Calor gas Butane or propane cyclinders and are campinggaz cartridges/equipment available?

i'd say dont buy anything like that untill you get here as there is heaps of choice here from the likes of Katmandu etc. this whole place id bush and camping mad so wait untill here and look into it then. Yep you can get heaps of stuff as contary to what some would think we are isolated but not backward!

We went camping last week with some Kiwi friends and just put their gas BBQ on the back of our ute! Perfect!

no probs have a look on trademe.co.nz they might have a few bits and bobs on there and it will give you an idea of cost of secon hand stuff.

Other thing to bear in mind, depending on when you arrive in NZ, is the end of season sales. We are waiting for the kids to go back to school and then hoping to get some bargains on outdoor furniture and camping gear.
