What song?

If you are anything like me, you associate songs with significant events in your life.
For me, the initial move to Hamilton is associated with "Why does love do that to me" (I think that's the title) by the Exponents. It was on the TV all the time on NZ Idol when we first arrived and every time I hear it, it recaptures those first early weeks.
My move to Porirua, I asociate with the 6th track on the Golliraz CD. It belongs to the girl and she played it for about 6 hours solid as we drove down here. No idea what it is called but it lives in the car and every time we set off, on it goes. I have become brainwashed now, even though she is in Hamilton for the holidays, I start the car and go to track 6
What about you? Do you have a song you associate with the BIG move?

Don't stop me now - McFly

I played it to death but still love it  I took my eldest to see McFly in concert just a few weeks before moving over here and this was my fave song of the night, a real chair bopper HAHA. It's stuck with me since. Think Queen originally sang it :o please don't shoot me for not knowing lol

'Leeeeeaving on a jet plane...' seems to keep popping into my head at the mo - only a few weeks to go now!!

Other than that Moby's 18 album seems to have been a bit of a soundtrack to our lives - the ups and the downs- since we bought it at the airport on route to our honeymoon:wub:

Stereophonics 'local boy in the photograph' is always a good one to have a good dance around to!

This one by Johnny Cash:

"I've Been Everywhere"

I was toting my pack along the long dusty Winnemucca road
When along came a semi with a high canvas covered load
If your goin' to Winnemucca, Mack with me you can ride
And so I climbed into the cab and then I settled down inside
He asked me if I'd seen a road with so much dust and sand
And I said, "Listen! I've traveled every road in this here land!"

I've been everywhere, man
I've been everywhere, man
Crossed the deserts bare, man
I've breathed the mountain air, man
Of travel I've had my share, man
I've been everywhere

After watching this video, Roger and I just fell in love with the place.

Even the children love the song used. I am requested to play it in the car at every opportunity and have it as my ringtone too :o

That’s actually ours too! :D Perhaps because since you first sent me that email with the song and video in we cannot stop watching it or listening to that song.

We’ve all got it on our iPods and when my 6 year old hears it he says “I’m listening to the New Zealand song” :D
