Scrub that, go for the Cooper - good second hand one - do you really want to look like a dork in a Rio or a Spark?

I rarely look like a dork in anything due to my spectacularly good hair

Admittedly my older rio has a touch of the nanna about it but the new ones are cute

Just realised - sorry to all those who drive the aforementioned slighted cars. For what it's worth, I once owned a Reliant Robin (ok, it was a long time ago and I was a student). Thing is, everytime I have thought, well I would like that one, but will make do with that one - always ended up regretting not going the extra.

I am sure you would look gorgeous in anything, but when you have a rather less than spectacular barnet, you need all the help you can get.

I guess I can't look any worse of a dork than I already do. It could be far worse, at least I'm not considering the full on mid-life crisis, two-seater rag top sports car look.

Oh it's all in the fancy letters - Mini or Mini c o o p e r.

Do not, under any circumstances, do the mid life crisis thing. Be very aware.

Indeed, I know that feeling too and resigned to the fact that now I'll never be able to have that 206CC based upon the last two posts.

Isn't that one the hard top? Just about then, merely a not-quite-mid-life-crisis- but-still-want-to-appear-young crisis.

Yes that's the one, I think it's a step too close to the mid-life thing, for me anyway.

Whereas actual young people would just buy a Citroën DS3 because the MINI is too "mum" and hence uncool? I see your point.

Because they too surely woudn't be able to afford one anyway, without a rich Mummy and Daddy to sponsor it.
