Default What do you wish you would have brought in your case?

On a similar note to the thread about things you wish you had shipped, was wondering if there was anything that you wish you would have brought in your luggage?

We are a family of 4 and due in NZ start of Jan and have decided to rent our house out sooner stay with family so that we do not have to wait as long for shipping the other end.

1) Keeping enough clothes (work and casual) for last 6 weeks in the UKwinter months
2) Keeping enough summer clothes for the other end

So, was wondering if anyone had been in the same boat?

I understand I should stock up on clothes in the UK????

depends on your taste and budget, we had a box sent by air freight free from our removers, we packed extra towels for dog, childs scooter, football and bulkier items, boots, paperwork, etc,
what I have found useful every time is a small sewing kit, and first aid kit

I'd second the first aid kit. If you have children then bring some Calpol sachets.

we carried through the Wii and games, not the board. We also came over in January and packed lots of summer clothes, ended up having to buy cardigans as summer 2012 was a little late, apparently. Large jar of marmite. pencils/pens. Calpol, Joy rides.
The children were allowed one teddy bear each to bring with them. We bought a car booster backpack car seat, children have to be in kids car seats until the age of 7 here, which allowed son to have that as well as his normal carry on suitcase, so we filled that up with his drawing books and pens and sweets etc.

Glad I carried over the laptop which we used to watch movies and connect to the interweb.

Second the calpol suggestion although you can get liquid anti-inflammatory here and if you go to the doctor with the kids they may give you a scrip for "Pamol" (I'd ask them), which is a lot cheaper than the over the counter stuff, it's a liquid paracetamol suspension.

Good luck.
