What to do in Auckland ...
 

Hi everyone! I have snuck over from the Australian threads. When we eventually get our visas (lets be positive) we will be going to Australia via Auckland (few days stop over).

Can anyone suggest places to visit or must dos whilst we are there?? We will have our 3 year old daughter with us so they must be child friendly!

Leave Auckland while your passports are with the consulate and drive up to the Bay of Islands to go look at the dolphins.
Or have a few days in Rotorua and visit the Agrodome (lots of kiddy things there), have a spa, visit the thermal reserve etc.
You don't have to stay in Auckland do you? Have a couple of days there by all means (go up the Skytower, take a trip out to Waiheke Island, visit the zoo if you must) but take the opportunity to see a bit more.

PM if you want any more ideas, otherwise search the forum for threads about people's trips (Frecka's trip springs to mind).

Day trip to Waheke Island
Go up the Sky Tower
Visit Kelly Tarltons (the aquarium)
Book a dolphin watching cruise (if they are running) or a harbour cruise - all the trips etc can be booked from the viaduct
Go to Piha Beach
