bit of car hunting and then decided we didn't want to pay the extra 17% surcharges added to eat in restaurants on the bank hol, so we decied to cook our own gourmet meal! Cheap as chips Mussels ($2.99/Kg) and home made bread, washed down with a bottle of one of NZ's finest mmmmm
We also went to check out wild Piha Beach

Saturday: shopping with daughter for accessories for her year 12 formal outfit and for pressies for OH's bday.
Sunday: Taxied daughter to and from town out with her mates (maybe we should let her get her licence before she turns 17 afterall!). Shopping with son for pressie for OH's bday, then taxied him to and from a mates bday outing. More shopping for OH's bday (provisions for the bday dinner).
Monday: chilled out with OH, hovered whilst daughter made bday cake, cleared up resulting mess in kitchen whilst she finished her English assignment essay, prepared, cooked, and ate bday dinner. Retired to bed knackered and in need of a three day weekend to recover

Went to Mount Maunganui to see if Moko was still hanging around but he obviously heard we were on the way and buggered off back to Whakatane .... how rude !!!!!!!!!!

Sounds as if everyone has had a fantastic time.
if the weather wasn't rubbish and the marathon wasn't on on sunday we would have ventured to the mount. Instead we headed home.
