What a busy year - I need some help please...

Hey all,

Hope your all well, havent been on this site much lately as we have had a very busy few months. My 5 year old started school, had a visit from my mother in Ireland for a month, put our house on the market (have 2 offers on it now so fingers crossed one of them goes unconditional soon) so we have had endless open homes. Which has been hard work with a 3 year old and a 5 year old AND i'm 6 months pregnant!!!! Hence the reason we are selling as we now need more room!!!

Anways guys, I just looked at my passport and I see that my returning resident visa is valid for 2 years which is up end of this month. My residence visa doesnt have an expiry date so I take it that is ok but what do I need to do with my returning residents visa? Not that I'll be travelling anywhere bar the hospital this year but would like to sort it! Any help would be great thanks!

Hi Irish-eyes

Our returning residence visa ended at the end of July. All we did was go to NZ immigration at Henderson, hand in the residency application which we down loaded from their website, handed over our passports and some money and our IRRV's were then put into our passports. It was all very painless and took about 20mins in all.

oooh that sounds easy - is henderson the only place to go? I'm on the Hibiscus Coast so not ideal but could still drive it! How much was it?

We are only down the road from you Irish-eyes, but we went to Henderson as we were told it would be a lot quieter than the Auckland office.

It cost us $140 for the 4 of us to renew our visas for the IRRV. We were expecting it to be a lot more.

Exciting times, congratulations on your pregnancy, I hope you are well with it.

The form you need to complete for the IRRV is actually the RRV form, don't waste hours searching for a form for IRRV there isn't one!:p
