What are the Best shopping streets in Wellington?
 

We have been looking at Wellington and the CBD and wondering what are the best shopping streets to be found there?

Can anyone help?

I remember looking forward to going to Welly for the shopping, having seen the adverts on TV. Oh how disappointed was I by the reality.

Best place to go shopping is to head to Australia or follow Mrs. F's suggestion ;)

Manners Street is a reasonable enough shopping street in Wellington. Hurricane Jeans is there so is Factorie which is a t-shirt and jeans shop. I think, 'Cotton On' is there too which is a clothes shop.

Butlers Chocolate café on Willis Street is great. Well, I like it.

There's the Old Bank Arcade on Courtenay Place which is full of boutiques. Not my taste but hey.

Featherston Street seems to have more cafes on it than shops IIRC.

Wellington isn't that great for shopping. Get out of town and visit the mall's in Lower Hutt centre and Porirua centre instead as they're far better. Lower Hutt mall is the biggest.

I was surprised how small Wellington CBD was, but still a quality little place. Did not see much shops worth perusing but a few places to eat and share coffee.

Yeah, I was there on business last week - hadn't realised how cosy it was. Didn't go shopping though, sadly.
