West/South Auckland areas to live in which are easy for the airport?

Can anyone suggest areas of Auckland to live in that are the best for links to the airport?
My OH is based at Auckland airport and we have been looking at Mount Albert, Hillsborough, Epsom, Mt Eden and Onehunga areas..

Any advice on any of those areas is much appreciated

We also have two dogs and will be renting for a few months

any suggestions!

Thanks! :)

Hi, We live in Papatoetoe and have done for the past 3 years. It takes 8 minutes to the airport and there is a new bus service that takes you there directly in about the same time.
A lot of people (who dont live here) would say "you dont want to live there" but I think its very nice here, we rented for the first year and now live in our house which I think is great. The railway station is 2 minutes walk which takes you right into town and the southern motorway is 2 minutes down the road, oh and the area is flat!
If you want to know anything more about the area just give me a yell.

I'm in Blockhouse Bay which is really easy now that the new motorway extension has opened.
Sandringham is great too, actually, I really like sandringham :D
Even Mt Eden is not far from the motorway

How about Titirangi? Never been there myself but people rave about it and it's about half an hour from the airport

How about Onehunga?

The problem with this place is when you try pronouncing it!!!

Many years ago (early 1990's) I had a little rental just off Ardmore airport whilst I was working at Mangere airport (Auckland)
Takanini was a nice little place (for south Auckland) back then, I dont know if it has changed at all. and Papakura seemed not too bad too.

I am not an Auckland fan, But the area was un-Auckland enough to be OK for me at the time, but close enough to the smoke to be useful when I needed to be down in Queen St.
just my 2 bobs worth as I cant see the point of leaving the M25 just to get the Auckland motorway.
