Hehe it is true then.....
I kept both in the office and sometimes got caught in the brief trip over the road/river that developed when it really rained here.
We have two golfing umbrellas now just for the cars really.....

Ok I concede - yes there are times when an umbrella is helpful but for the majority of the time, a decent waterproof jacket (even a light one if you are layering up) is more important.

I actually do have an umbrella in my office. It gets used by the rest of my workmates a couple of times a year. I am the only one in my workplace who regularly has an umbrella.

I have to admit though, i generally just have a woollen coat and a ski jacket with a hood for cold days. I just alternate them. If it is likely to rain i wear the ski jacket. If it is cold but clear i wear the wool coat.

For much of the year, however, i just have a lighter jacket which is windproof. Therefore i am fine much of the time.

Frequent showers in Auckland (unlike Welly) so all you need to do is you just stand and wait, wait for 5 minutes! ...

true but they sometimes go on for a bit longer and a boy has to go about his business without soaking feet/socks/shoes/trousers/grollies/wallet/mobile/hankie/loose change/......I'll leave the rest to your fertile imagination........

(while schooling) I didn't enjoy (soaking wet) frequent showers in AKL when we moved to NZ first time.

(at that time) a (old ish) Kiwi lady told me .......

just Wait 5 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (incisive/ironic comment?)

btw We lived in Blockhouse Bay for 1 year!!!!() before moving to Welly

Gooooooooooood!!! Beautiful

thanks

doh! I miss a real live match in England! you make me saaaaaaaaaaaaad Villa is my bf's team... I love Aston Villa football T shirts

i don't know what you'r missing about the u.k. tho'

a bunch of (Civilized/Polite/Educated) British people with a sense of humor - they are lovely. and it's culture... also cheap books, great Classical music concerts (very high standards of performance) in London! That's super important for me (I am a violinist)

I have to admit that I am not emotionally connected to Kiwis.... I just don't have much fun hang out with them..... therefore I don't believe myself I can ever settle down here (forever)

I lived in Scotland and now in Wellington (Freezing in winter). Maybe I am just at a place in my life but weather is not high on the priority list. If that was the case I would have stayed in Australia
