We are moving to Nelson in 12 days time, wondering what clothes etc I will need to pack for us and the two children, we are limited on suitcase space due the restrictions on our flight from Manchester, so can only have once case each.

The rest of our stuff will be following us, but as we have no-where to live at the mo, don't know how long thats going to be.

We are down 'the road' in Blenehim at the mo. It's been a real mixed bag so far this month; we had 30deg one day last week and eriously hot as you can imagine and then yesterday barely touched 20 and rain!!!

We bought lots of layers for our 3, tracksuits and shorts and t shirts and just a lightweight waterproof for them too.

Not sure how old your 2 are but there are still plenty of sales in the shops here of summer stuff and summer is not over yet by a long shot.

February is usually warmish. However, weather can and does change rapidly here. Pack stuff that you would normally wear late summer. Toss in a few jerseys and you should be OK. Don't worry too much. There are plenty of shopping options if you need to buy something that you may have forgot.

February is normally quite a settled month.

Pack as for summer with warm to hot days and coolish late evenings. Many of the evenings are not cool at all but if you are out late or there is a chill in the wind , a fleece is handy.

I know, 12 days is coming fast, just had our goodbye party for all our family and friends - was very emotional still getting over that. Where abouts are you at?

Hi Julie, who you flying with? We flew from Manchester with Singapore airlines and got twice the luggage allowance (40kg each instead of 20kg) cause we were emigrating

Hiya, we are flying with Air NZ, but the flight from Manchester is an internal to Heathrow which is why we can only have 20kg.
