We won't be there when our stuff arrives!
So our container left weeks ago and it is planned that it will be going straight to my father-in-law in Auckland probably by the end of this month , but the rules state that if you are not there to sign for it within 20 days of its arrival in port then the options are you pay to have it stored or you can pay a fully refundable bond to release you container in the normal way as long as you are going arrive within 6 months which we certainly are.
Does anyone know how much this costs?.

The quote we had from the Moving company in Wellington was a one off cost of about $450 to transfer to storage which also guaranteed your future delivery and then $7 a day so about $50 a week. If you are insured with Letton's you get first 30 days free in storage then a charge after that, can't remember what it was but it was minimal.

Ok cheers for that...still not sure which way we'll go.....storage or bond. Depends how much the bond is although it is fully refundable.
