Default Want to buy a Weber BBQ

I want to get a Weber gas BBQ.

In the US I can it buy for $549.00 (USD)

http://www.amazon.com/Weber-46710001...rds=weber+e320

In NZ it cost $1499.00 !!!!!!! WTF!

Robbing b#$%^&^#

So unless I can get a good BBQ here (and I have had a good look at Bunnings/Mitre 10 and have been less than impressed). I am tempted to buy one and have it shipped.

I have been quoted $248 to ship it here, even if I get hit with GST it still come in under a grand.

Does the quote for shipping include customs clearance fees, customs import transaction fees as well? Might be worth checking as it could add a little more overall.
What did you think of the Matadors at Bunnings?

I used to have a Weber back in the UK and have been using our faithful Weber charcoal BBQ for nearly ten years here in NZ.

We went to house party a while ago and they had a four burner Weber and I instantly had BBQ envy. The food was really great and had the same(ish) smoky flavour as charcoal.

Yes looked at the Matador range.

But the Webers have "flavouriser" bars, really excellent insulation and proper grill bars. It also weights nearly 100kg. It's what I want.

Way over the 30kg weight limit.

Am talking to these guys and they quoted me $248 to have it landed, cleared and delivered. They appear to be part of mainfreight, so have some comfort in dealing with them.
