Want to break into Project Management - IT
I have been working in NZ since last 3 years. Currently on vacation outside NZ.
NZ, being a very small country, the concept of specialisation simply does NOT exist. Hence, one cannot make best use of one's past experience - As one life is too short to master every tool/technology, I am now trying to find a management type of role. I strongly feel that I can now do well in some kind of management role with my past experience.
I am actively looking for any project management (including QA, Change, Problem, Release, Config management) and/or any Service Delivery roles.
My past experience includes working in several CMM L5/ISO 9001 certified IT services firms and handling niche Clients in a range of demanding SLA driven environments. Often, little attention is paid to processes and QA procedures, hence my past experience could be a big asset to several organisations who wish to achieve a certain level of process maturity in various projects undertaken.
Many managers in NZ do not have any formal certifications but good contacts with HR/Recruitment personnel.
No one is born specifically for a certain role but can grow into something suitable, given the right opportunities.
My past experience with several blue chip organisations can be of good use in process maturity, QA, business analysis, etc.
Can anyone suggest something in NZ ???

Well you certainly can write very well so suggest you do that and contact a number of companies in NZ telling them what your looking for.
Here's a list of the top 100 companies in NZ

You could also look at adding project management qualification such as Prince 2 and\or PMP to your list of certifications.
