Default Wanganui or Whanganui What to do if based there for a month?

Supposedly 45 mins from Palmerston North?

Any suggestions if going to be there for a month, with work (3 days per week), so either fly back to Auckland for 4 days or stay down and see the country?

You're welcome.

Surf casting is popular on the beach. There's a competition each year as to who can catch the biggest sea fish. Snapper is a very popular fish for people to catch and eat if that's what they want.

Hint: go to George's Fish and Chip shop in Whanganui and get your fish freshly battered and cooked with freshly cooked chips if you want good fish and chips. You can chose which fish you want from the display in the window as it's also an excellent fish monger. We've had fresh fish to cook at home as well as fish and chips from there. Both excellent.

I've sent you another PM. This one is even longer !

Then another PM, but shorter this time.

See the country If you're into the outdoorsy/hiking scene then do the Tongariro Crossing. We did it back in March and it was fantastic, one of the highlights of our north island trip. Stayed in a tiny alpine town called Ruapehu in a hotel that had great views of Mount Doom, great food and hot tubs. Just what was needed after finishing the crossing!
