Hi, Just read your message.
We live in Waitawheta, Waihi. This is just 5 min from the village and approx 15 from Waihi Beach.
The nice thing I find from Waihi Beach is, that it is a real community. The primary school over there is just great, and part of the children go to Waihi college, and the other part go to Katikati.
If you like a village where everybody knows each other, it is a great place to be. It is very safe and the beach is great.
We have chosen for Waitahweta, as it is rural and we could buy a beautiful property here. Also we like the bush very much.
In Waihi there are 2 big supermarkets and the town is very nice. There are a lot of activities you can do up here. If - for now - you are going to rent, I can certainly advise you to come to Waihi.
It is quite central : Tauranga, Thames, Hamilton
Good luck!
