How cool it was to see Valery Adams get here gold medal tonight especially in front of a 100% kiwi crowd.

Shame the whole production of the TV presentation was utter crap
looked like it was done by an ncea media studies class.
Give her the medal and now focus on everyone else but her. hold the long shot
of the back of the audiences heads, now just when it might get to the bit we all
wanted to see, Val swelling with pride and full of emotion, ignore it and cut to the
of key school choir for the whole of the national anthem and then back to the
presenter for his piece to camera

I agree, it was great to see Val get the gold medal she so richly deserves, even if the TV coverage was particularly poor..

Mind you, if it were up to me, I'd have made the Belarussian woman (?) come to New Zealand and present it to Val personally, at Eden park just before an All Blacks rugby test.

I flipped between channels and Campbell Live's coverage was much better. They actually showed the ceremony, whereas Close-Up made a mess of it and had talking heads over the top of it.

If Val had won the medal outright first time, there wouldn't have been all this palaver.
