Special note for wooden leg wearers: bio-security is very strict in New Zealand. Your leg will have to be scanned by the x-ray at customs to determine if there are termites or wood borers. True fact!
In Heartland Waikato when you apply for your driver's licence you will be required to sport a mullet for the photo on your licence. This also applies to Bay of Plenty and areas surrounding Palmerston North.
