Default Used Car Business? Is it advisable?

My dad is planning to start a business in Timaru, I heard used cars business are overkill in NZ and AUS but makes you earn up to 50-100% profit, what do you think? Any advices please.. Thanks..

You only make a profit if you actually sell a car and i pass dozens of car yards
everyday that have the same stock sitting outside month after month.
There are car yards closing down all over the place so it isnt the easy money
option you think it is.
You would also have to have a very good in depth knowledge of the NZ car
market and all models available here.
Its not simply a case of buying low and selling high, if it was we'd all be doing it.

Yes gettin through NZ car market is insane!!!
Last week a car would cost at $5,000 NZD the next week it would go at $3,000NZD.
Better study the sturdy market first.

But have you tried to look the basic regulation here?? its too over acting, i want to hear opinions from you guys if the NZ car regulation is really effective for the consumers when some of them are dealers?.

wont it be too hard for them to carry this business in this such regulations? www.nzta.govt.nz/vehicle/
