The TV will work fine, the freevies wont.
You'll have to get sky or a kiwi freeview box if you
want to watch anything as the terrestial reception quality
in NZ is pityful. most channels are snowy

YES!

Only because the few free TV stations are so rubbish, if you've got kids, or are used to putting your feet up during the evening and watching a bit of TV then you need sky.

Thats what I thought but then after a few times I was absolutely knackered on Monday mornings. The worst thing is they do repeat it but usually at midday on Monday. Although occasionally they do have it on on Monday evening with highlights at least

Its all over the place. You will have to go through SKY to get the best coverage.

I think on Freeview you get to see quite a bit also, but on SKY there is a dedicated rugby channel that plays none stop games, replays etc. This has all the internationals from here and Europe. All NZ domestic games, all super 14 (super 15 from this year), English leagues, French leagues, Heiniken cup etc etc. As I said its everywhere. On the SKY TV website it will give you all the costs etc.
