Default UK state pension

Hi
We arrived in New Plymouth in January this year and are still sorting out a few loose ends, one of which is the UK state pension.

We are not of pensionable age, (40) but though that we would be able to transfer our contributions from the UK to NZ (Kiwi Save or similar) only to be told by DWP that this is not the case, but once we reach 65 they will either pay the pension into a UK account or Overseas account.

Is this correct?

Jill

I actually work for DWP but in another department (on career break at present). Have just been on their website and have pasted the following link which you may find useful.

Best Wishes, LB
