UK Qualified Paramedics in New Zealand
I emailed St John with questions a couple of weeks ago but as of yet I've had no answer. Does anyone know if they sponsor UK paramedics for jobs there? Do they even employ UK Paramedics? Are we qualified to work there? Is there an equivalent of a HCPC to register with first?
Really appreciate any information anyone can give. |
Re: UK Qualified Paramedics in New Zealand
have you tried the points indicator on the NZ immigration site?
you would need to get 160 or above to be able to apply for a visa. Paramedic is on the list of skilled occupations so you would need to get a job offer from an accredited company. I believe you would need to get your qualifications accessed. Also on the St John site lots of the jobs are part time and lots seem to be only open to existing employees. As paramedic on the skills list I would not just look at St John for vacancies |
Re: UK Qualified Paramedics in New Zealand
As I understand it from my research, there are only two ambulance services within New Zealand. St. John and Wellington Free Ambulance.
I am of the understanding that Wellington Free Ambulance only covers a relatively small area which is why I've so far concentrated on St. John. My partner and I would be looking for the same jobs so we need a job each. :) |
