We've got flights booked for September 11th to Christchurch (although we're wobbling a bit on location, and might change our minds yet).
I'm getting seriously worried that we won't be ready - there's just too much to do. The house isn't even on the market yet, but we'll be off regardless!!! :eek: |

How are you heading to NZ on an Australian State Sponsored visa? Although having Australian PR does grant you NZ PR on the back of it, if you don't live in the Australian state that sponsored you for 2 years and in Australia at all within 5 years of visa grant your PR for both countries will be cancelled. I presume you have a back-up plan?

You're right that the Australian PR will get cancelled after 5 years, but the NZ PR will stay valid for as long as we stay in NZ. We should subsequently qualify for NZ citizenship. NZ Immigration have confirmed that this is how it works.
