The plan is to be staying in Auckland. Will be in Ponsonby for the first couple of weeks and then taking it from there.
We are actually flying out on the 4th May but plan to have a few nights in Hong Kong first. Just realised we land the 11th May actually. Not sure about a double winter though.
When does the weather turn/how bad is it really in Akl?

know how you feel. we originally planned a double summer to fly out in sept, but Matt got a job offer, so its a double winter instead. Auckland winters are mild and a bit wet. nowhere near as cold as UK has been! some posh accomodation in Ponsonby, but check for double glazing, and good heating\insulation etc...

It will make us all appreciate our first proper kiwi summer even more! We are stopping off in Vegas/San Fran for some sun first.
