Default UK expat apprenticeship in NZ

Hi there,
I'm a 19 year old college student in the UK.
I have achieved the grades D*D*D* in BTEC Level 3 Engineering, and am contemplating studying in NZ.

Would it be possible for me, a UK citizen, to undertake an apprenticeship or a trade in NZ with my current qualifications?

If so;
-Would I have to pay a fee for the course?
-Is the student visa sufficient or relevant for me to do an apprenticeship or a trade?
-Would undertaking a course provide me the prospect of a longer working visa or future citizenship?

I very much appreciate any knowledge you can provide for me on this subject.

Thanks in advance,
Ben

Hi there.
I'll have a bit of a ferret around about this and get back to you.
My husband is in the trades and so there is some knowledge of the trade training options.
