Maybe. The UK is Region 2 for DVDs, New Zealand is Region 4. However both countries share the same PAL standard so if you have a multi-region DVD player or the DVDs you have are encoded for Region 4 or are region-free, then they will work.

For Blu-Rays both the UK and New Zealand are Region B so they'll work without any problems.

Now days peeps buy multi region players or just have one unlocked at the shop.
Just have yours unlocked before you bring it.

We bought a NZ playstation with the excuse we could use it for NZ dvds! Have noticed that generally most stuff made for T.V. will play on anything but films made for the big screen normally won't. But as Stormer999 already mentioned you can just get your one unlocked anyway.

Its usually pretty easy to find out online how to change your DVD player to region free then you can play anything.
IME the cheaper the player the easier it is.

That's right. Our UK dvd's worked ok as we have a uk dvd player. We needed a new t.v. as the old one fell over during an earthquake and we needed a new dvd player too. I bought a good t.v. and a dvd player cheap here in NZ. It plays UK and NZ dvds.

My husband ordered some UK comedy dvds from Amazon in Britain and they play ok on our NZ dvd player. The dvd player is cheap to be sophisticated I imagine.

No. I tried it. Your DVD player would have to be unlocked. Our UK bought home one is, but the one at work won't play my UK DVDs

I learned all about stability straps today. I had no idea they even existed!
