Everything in our house with a plug is from the UK and still has UK plugs - except the hoover. With hindsight wish we'd bought that too - bit too bulky to carry back in my suitcase now ..... Have been known to carry a jug / kettle (or whatever it is) and other electrical items in my suitcase.

I just changed the plug on my UK four-gang extension, and use my British sockets! Ta dah!

I'm glad this subject has been raised. I have a UK toaster, again Dualit I think, which seems to trip the fuse every time we use it. I'm assuming this is connected to some of the points raised on here regarding amps, watts, etc?
Also, would I need to get my UK Tumble Dryer seen by an electrician to ensure it works here? Our landlords left theirs so we're using that at the moment.

We have UK touch lights in our bedroom, hubby's works fine but mine only works when the electric blanket is switched on, strange thing is that they are not even plugged into the same socket
