TV aeriel - funny story
 

This is different from the usual "Will my tv work in NZ?" :p it's actually "why wont my NZ purchased tv work in NZ?"

Basically, I decided after 3 years of being here, to upgrade to a 'modern tv' with Freeview built in. Got myself a bargain set and tuned it in. Hmm, it didn't pick up the Freeview channels:confused:. The shop where I bought it told me that I probably had the wrong aerial so I contacted a local company who came to sort it out.

It turned out that I had the correct UHF aerial but what I didn't have was a dedicated power supply that switches the Freeview part on! Previous homeowners must have taken it with them for some reason!

Now I have a new power supply and can watch Freeview - which is just extra channels of rubbish :rofl: So instead of spending hundreds of $$$ on a new aerial, I spent $40 on a power supply!
