Travel and Medical Insurance

Can anyone recommend good Travel and Medical Insurers to insure us initially for the 6 months we will be in NZ?

Are you backpacking/taking a year out and not planning to reside in NZ? If so, GoInsure have year long travel insurance for those travelling around, but I think you have to end up in the UK to live again.

If you will be residing in NZ even on a working holiday visa I think you get the health entitlemet - but not sure. I know as a permanent resident I get the state healthcare thingy.

We'll be arriving on just a holiday visa, so I don't think we qualify for their health cover.

My parents have just booked their cover, they took out an annual worldwide policy with the AA - they are over 65 so it was more expensive, about £200 for the year's cover I think (they're coming for 2 months, but that was the cheapest way of doing it and it covers them for travel in Europe next year once they're back). There are certainly plenty of companies that do annual cover.
