Travel Insurance - don't use this company

Just a warning to all:

I had annual travel insurance with Insure and Go - taken out before we left the UK. When we moved out here a couple of months ago, I contacted them about a refund as there was still 6 months left on the policy. It was like getting blood out a stone just getting some acknowledgement but they have just come back to me to say that you are only eligible for a refund within 14 days of starting the policy. I can't see any wording about that in their policy booklet so I am well and truely narked! Don't know if this is the same with all insurers but they do certainly get money for doing nothing!

Hi Chelsey

This is the case with most UK insurers, they give you a 7 or 14 day cooling off period just in case the insurance does not suit your requirements, anything after that, then they do not refund

I used to work for a travel agent in the UK and all the different insurance companies that we used to deal with over many years all had the same policy

this tends to be the same with house and car insurance as well

i suggest the only way you can make your money back is to claim on it (but you didnt hear that from me) ;)
