Transferring money to NZ

Hi

I just want to ask the best way to transfer funds into your NZ bank account whilst here . We have an XE account but would need to be in Uk to arrange the transfer of funds I believe . Any suggestions ?

Thanks Karen

Hifx sorted out all our currency transfers, they have offices in the UK and NZ. If you open an account with them they will sort out NZ bank accounts (if you want them to) and transfer the money when you tell them to. They offered us a brilliant service.

We opened an online saver account with Westpac whilst at the Expo last year. You're allowed to make 2 deposits into it before residing in NZ

I've used XE to transfer from a UK account to NZ whilst over here, but it's an IF account in the UK so I can just use internet banking.

Ooh excellent, thanks so much poppets! (yes yes I know, I really should do more research by myself :o )

How far through the process?... Um... not. That's the quick answer, haven't filed our EOI yet, but I'd sort of like to before we go to NZ. Hubby's pretty sold on the idea of not working ;) :D and the lifestyle change would do us all a tremendous amount of good! I'm looking to get the cats to the vets soon and have started putting out feelers for jobs. One agency in Wellington said they'd "definitely be able to accommodate me", which just about floored me, so I'll be interviewing with them when we're over in April. Most places ask for 2 or 3 years of experience, and I have 8. Hopefully that is enough to swing some prospective employers. ;)

OK that was a bit long-winded, sorry!
