Traffic Offences
EOI - Question 11 - "Have you ever been convicted or found guilty of any offences against the law?"........Trying to be as honest as possible!! Does this include traffic offences? I was fined 20yrs ago for driving without due care - ran a red light, hit a wall ended up in someone's front garden!!!

If so, where do you stand if your involved in an accident with an uninsured driver? Do you loose your no claims bonus even if its not your fault? Is there a no claims bonus with insurers over there? and Do cars have an MOT each year? Road Tax?
Thanks for any answers.

Re: Traffic Offences
Yes insurance is optional
Don't know about the rest cos it ain't happened yet
Warrant Of Fitness is what cars need here every six months but it's not like the scarey MOT in the UK, any old shite sails though as long as it has a windscreen, four tyres and brakes to stop it!
You also need to register your car which is the same as car road tax in the UK and also diesel cars have an extra tax on their miles.

Traffic offences don't go on your criminal record (unless you killed someone and it was manslaughter or drink driving or something like that.)

Also, events including Criminal convictions more than 7 years old do not need to be disclosed (I think that law was passed last year)...but not sure.
Can anyone verify that?
