Is Titirangi commutable?

Hi,

Anyone commute into the CDB from Titirangi, Auckland? Wondering what it is like? And does the train station at Glen Eden help at all, assuming it has enough car parks.

Thanks in advanced.

We live near Titirangi and yes, it's commutable but the time you have to leave has got earlier and earlier. When we moved here (about 7 years ago) my oh could leave at 8am and not get stuck in traffic. Now he has to leave about 7.30 to be in reasonably free-flowing traffic. Travel time about 30-35 mins (takes us 20 mins completely off-peak on the weekends etc). At the moment there is a lot of work on Great North Road building a new motorway tunnel, which can slow things down a fair bit.

You can get the train from either Glen Eden, Fruitvale or New Lynn stations, they're all a similar distance to Titirangi. New Lynn has more car parks that you have to pay for but is one stage less to the city so train fares are cheaper. Fruitvale has more free on-street parking but is one stage more expensive on the train. Not sure about the parking at Glen Eden, the station is right by the shopping area so free parking may be a little walk away.

Titirangi is a lovely suburb, good place to live imo.

The car park fills up quickly at Glen Eden train station so you need to get in early. I believe the other car parks are time limited.

There will be traffic issues by the roundabout in Titirangi so where you decide to live can help with that issue.

Titirangi is a nice area, good luck if you decide to move there.
