Time to get your crepe pans out
It's Shrove Tuesday tomorrow better known as Pancake Day.
Remember the olden days on Blue Peter when the new presenter had to 'prove' themselves with pancake making. Was usually disastrous & didn't we love it .
Not a thing the Kiwis tend to do, so I just thought I'd remind you. I shall be busy in my kitchen tomorrow afternoon as Mr Big Sticks does love a pancake or ten
Happy tossing all

Re: Time to get your crepe pans out
I shall be using Homepride but with pancakes it doesn't matter as I don't want them to rise
Am I the only person who's making them? Do people not like them or is it a case of you can't be bothered?
I'm wondering if I've found a gap in the market

You're not alone. This is one of a few habits I've kept.
In honour of NZ I'll be doing banana crepes with maple syrup, savoury creamed corn without the maple syrup & because I simply can't help myself, chocolate (whittakers which is proper chocolate) & chocolate bits melted in maple syrup.
Love to know your creations.

On this occasion I like to keep it traditional, so it'll be lemon juice & sugar for us.
Got a lovely recipe for a bacon & mushroom filling topped with a bechamel sauce.
Also like stewed apple & cinnamon with a caramel sauce

Ooh, I love a pancake or ten as well and I always forget, as we don't get the usual cues that Easter is on its way.
I found two lovely large limons in the gardin yesterday, so they'll be perfick for drowning a pancake or two in.
