Tiling in Tauranga - moved to main forum

Hi to all,
Im Chris, wife Debbie, Olivia (9) and Guy (7), looking at Rotarua, hamilton,Tuaranga area.
We hope to be in NZ before Sept 09, just putting a plan together really, any advice on the availability of work for my trade, Ceramic Wall & Floor Tiling, specializing in Victorian/Minton flooring and Italian Glass Mosaic work, perhaps another tiler whos actually been through all the emigration stuff would be great, but any info on square metre rates, types of work available, etc. would be much appreciated (ive tried googling it, no joy there!)).
Its not actually on the NZ 'jobs wanted list' but people have said there is a need ????? Any comments (good or bad) about these areas would also be welcome.
Im planning to recce next Jan/Feb and would really appreciate anything information wise that may aid me in drawing up the 'family moving plan'.
Is there anywhere on this site that actually shows the emigration/moving process and timescale (of each part of the process) in some sort of understandable format , i.e. real life experiences! (an 'Dummies Guide' to moving to NZ), yunno that kinda thing.
Thanks in advance for all who reply.

Chris

Hi Chris.

I'm going to move your intro thread into the main forum as you have lots of questions and there will be people in there who may well have the info you are looking for.;)
