For those renting out their homes in the UK
A lot of insurers have stopped dealing with overseas landlords, I had a heck of a time last year trying to get quotes online.
I found a brokers called C and R Insurance services, who arranged the insurance for me last year, and we're just renewed with them now.
Their web address is here, www.propertyletinsurance.co.uk you can click for a quote, I found them most helpful.

Thanks have asked for a quotation, although our house is cob, (non standard construction) which normally poses a problem.

Some insurers are fine with landlords being overseas. It's just that I don't have the patience to get a bunch of good quotes, only to have to read the small print on each one and find out they won't insure overseas landlords. Using a broker that specialises in this area saves me a lot of leg work. I'm inherently lazy
