Thinking moving to new zealand
 
Hi everyone

Am thinking moving my family to New zealand, we have a couple of kids ages 4 & 2 what's it like for kids ? My wife is a dental nurse over 15 years do anyone know if its on the skilled list ? Also am a sports coach and instructor with 8 years experience, also where would think is the best place to stay for a ex pat ? Thanks

Hi there and welcome to BritishExpats and this New Zealand forum. I emigrated to NZ too around 15 years ago.

I did a quick check and cannot see Dental Nurse on the shortages lists but yes , it is seen as skilled. Where one ends up largely depends on where the work is.

Thanks for your reply, if lts on the skilled list can you still gain PR? Very new to this!!!

Both our jobs are on skilled list so arent sure

Yes. If you have enough points. Most likely that would be with a job offer on board.

Unless an employer was NZ immigration accredited they could not offer an overseas person a job unless they could prove that there was no NZ citizen or resident that could take up the position.
An accredited employer is free to offer an overseas person employment without having to do that.

Have your OH chat to the NZ Dental Council about overseas quals and work possibilities.

Sports coaches etc are two a penny out here as you would expect.
