Spending 3 month on a 550 acre private island in the Coromandel (Slipper Island) when we first arrived looking after cows, sheep, horses and the odd guest.
Work a ski season. Whakapapa last year was great.
Back to the real world now though with a "proper" job but that's allowed us to stay permanently. Total change of industry compared to my UK work too but I love it.

Being a Mod on a super-duper website.
Appearing on the cover of Living Abroad magazine (June 2008, I think)
Seeing lots of people I know personally on the TV regularly (usually in Cigna ads & not totally sure this is a positive thing TBH!).

In a good place this evening.
just caught up with episodes of Dr Who that I had missed before coming over. (courtesy of anchor freeserve)
Also just watched a Canadian film, screened by the Beeb, "Paesschendaele". Male lead looked familiar, couldn't place him. Turns out he was the Mountie, Fraser, from "Due South". really enjoyed that show including the deaf, lip reading husky x wolf! Fan of Northern Exposure, with Janine Turner as well.
Closet 90's Canadian, Moi? "Je ne pourrais pas commenter"
and, of course, I wouldn't be doing the above if i was still in Blighty.

I thought of something brill this morning- I get up between 7-7:30am most mornings and most the year it is light. Very few horrid get up in the darks here for me I hate the lack of light in UK for months on end and getting up in the dark just sucks.
