I went to a BBQ for Crusaders Season Ticket holders. On meeting Dan Carter, what did I say?

'Shall I take your photo before you put your sausage in your mouth?'

Oh where do I start?

To someone doing a self assessment of their work skills - "Just lie and say you're good at everything"

To someone discussing a magazine article on the [staggering] amount of calories in semen - " Bloody hell, you must have swallowed plenty"
That didn't come out as I meant it to and to make matters worse it wasn't a friend who could take that banter...It did make everyone laugh [including the subject of my comment] once the stunned silence abated.:o She wasn't the smallest of ladies..

To my husband - 'well since my job is a professional one as opposed to yours...' He has never let me live that down, again what I said was not what I meant...

Luckily I am known to be good natured so my occasional mistakes are taken as such...I hope!

The worst I've heard is one of the receptionists in my first job. I came out of a consult to hear giggling and see a beetroot red receptionist with her head in her hands. On handing over some drugs she'd told the woman 'you need to wear gloves when you handle that medication especially since you're pregnant' She got a very frosty 'I am not pregnant!!!" and the woman stormed out. Ooops, from that point on I NEVER assume someone's pregnant unless they're practically giving birth in front of me:rofl:

I've only been home 4 1/2 months and I'm already desperate to get back to NZ... :(
